The YOHJI YAMAMOTO NICHE COLLECTION contains six fragrances, each of which represents the essence of this designer's philosophy and reflects his own characteristics and attitudes. It took a long time to come up with a niche collection that would be so authentic. Although the bottles look similar, the scents are very different.
The bottles are packed in completely black boxes, which have no other decorations than the embossed brand mark. Yamamoto is known for his love of black. He rarely decides on colors in his collections, preferring to experiment with forms, textures and constructions. He says he feels comfortable in black because the color black says, "I don't bother you, you don't bother me."
The bottles themselves are transparent. What at first glance appear to be rings of black ribbon upon closer inspection is revealed to be the Yohji inscription. On the back of those letters, visible only if you look through the liquid, is the sentence that Yamamoto intended for each fragrance.
DECONSTRUCTION is an ambery, woody fragrance with notes of grapefruit and rose, iris and cedar, as well as patchouli oil and leather.
